THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT
This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the BikeHike Adventures Inc. website. On some pages, you can order brochures, subscribe to the BikeHike Adventures Newsletter, make trip reservations and make trip inquiries. The types of personal information collected at these pages are:

We do not collect personal financial information such as credit card numbers over the internet. We only accept this information over the phone.
1. FINANCIAL INFORMATION
BikeHike Adventures Inc. does not directly collect personal financial information such as credit card numbers over the internet. When processing transactions, BikeHike Adventures Inc. directly sends clients a secure link that they can click to a third party vendor’s payment processing server. This payment vendor, Bambora (https://www.bambora.com), is used for all credit card payment transactions and its primary data centers are located in Canada. When it is your preference that we enter the credit card payment for you, we take your card information over the phone and enter the details directly into Bambora’s secure system. Your information is immediately destroyed as soon as it is entered.
2. ONLINE ADVERTISING
You should be informed of the following:
- BikeHike Adventures has implemented and uses Display Advertising.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, show our ads on sites across the Internet.
- BikeHike Adventures and third-party vendors, including Google, use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) and third-party cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) to optimize, and serve ads based on someone's past visits to our website
- BikeHike Adventures specifically uses Remarketing with Google Analytics and Facebook to advertise online.
- BikeHike Adventures may also use programs with Google and Facebook remarketing, or related third party vendors, to gather and analyze information about the areas that you visit on the website. This information is used to evaluate and improve the customer experience and the convenience of the website, and to help us evaluate some of the specific information related to your website visits.
- Visitors can opt-out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and customize Google Display Network ads using the Ads Preferences Manager or any Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.
3. THE WAY WE USE INFORMATION
We use the personal information you provide to complete trip reservations and/or bookings, as well as to forward any communication(s) you’ve requested such as a monthly newsletter or brochure. Provided that you have opted in to receive newsletter communication, BikeHike Adventures Inc. will inform you about our news and trips that we believe may be of interest to you. BikeHike Adventures Inc. will provide you with the opportunity to opt out at any time.
BikeHike Adventures Inc. does not share any collected personal information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete the above-mentioned activities. Any collected personal information enables BikeHike Adventures Inc. to provide you with trip information, book applicable internal flights or trains, secure accommodations and process payments. Your personal information may be maintained and processed by our service providers in Canada, the US or other countries and jurisdictions in compliance with local laws, regulations, and immigration requirements.
BikeHike Adventures Inc. never uses or shares the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.
BikeHike Adventures Inc. does not share, sell, or trade names, addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers or any other information collected.
BikeHike Adventures Inc. does not release your credit card or financial information to any other companies or organizations except to process your BikeHike Adventures Inc. trip reservation and/or booking.
4. INFORMATION COLLECTED AND USED FOR TRIP BOOKINGS
When you book travel services with BikeHike Adventures Inc, you consent to collection, use and disclosure of your personal information by BikeHike Adventures Inc — and the corresponding collection and use by the relevant travel partners or suppliers — for the purposes of administering and delivering the travel services you booked. When BikeHike Adventures Inc. relies on local service providers, it provides certain personal information to its service providers for the purposes of delivering your experience. For example, hotel bookings, internal flights or train tickets on your behalf will require providing certain personal information for the purposes of securing your space.
5. EUROPEAN RESIDENTS: TRANSFERS OF DATA OUTSIDE EUROPE
Please note that if you are resident in the UK, European Union or European Economic Area (“EEA”) BikeHike Adventures Inc. may hold your personal information outside of the EEA. Your personal information will be primarily held by BikeHike Adventures Inc. in Canada (a country the European Commission recognizes as having adequate levels of privacy protection). Additionally, there will be instances in which BikeHike Adventures Inc. must transfer your personal information to travel suppliers and other third parties outside of the EEA, for trips booked in countries outside of the EEA. In such instances, BikeHike Adventures will take reasonable steps to ensure that your privacy rights are protected even when these countries outside of the EEA may not have the same level of privacy protection laws.
6. OUR COMMITMENT TO DATA SECURITY
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
7. HOW YOU CAN CORRECT YOUR INFORMATION
You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by sending us a request that credibly shows error. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.
