Kathmandu Valley
October to March: Cool mornings with mist, then sunny and warm until mid-afternoon. Overnight temperatures can drop to freezing.
April to May: Temperatures gradually increase to 30'C (86'F). Rain is common, often in the afternoons.
Mid-June to September: Monsoon rains fall mainly at night but they are not as heavy as the rains experienced in the south of the country.
The Himalayas
Late-September to November: Clear skies, great mountain views. These are the peak months for trekking, just after the monsoons which have greened the land.
Mid- March to May: The high passes open. Treks to the Everst Base Camp are ideal although mountain views may not be as clear as the fall months.
June to Mid -September: Monsoon rains make it difficult for good trekking. Flowers are colorful at this time.
