BikeHike Makes Much Better Adventures

We were surfing the Twitter waves a few weeks ago and noticed that some of the tweeps in our sustainable travel stream were talking about this new online directory: Much Better Adventures.

"Hey" we thought "We're sustainable, we provide sustainable adventures, and we think we're much better than some companies at being sustainable. So why aren't we on here?"

We filled out an application to be listed, set sustainability goals for 2010 (one of the requirements), and went through an interview process over the phone with one of the founders, Alex. He'd actually heard about BikeHike before when he was living in Vancouver and already thought we'd be a good fit with Much Better Adventures. Still, the interview lasted about an hour and included a heap of questions about BikeHike Adventures, our history, our trips, our guides, our sustainable practices, what we do specifically in the office as well as around the world to promote sustainable tourism etc. I think he asked me more questions than Trish did in my interview for this job! haha

I guess that just added to the excitement of finally being listed on the site. BikeHike Adventures: we make "much better adventures" ;)
