Trish Sare, Heading to Nepal to Open a New BikeHike destination

Greetings adventurers,
I'm excited as I'm heading to Nepal and India in the next 12 hours. In Nepal I'll be researching a new multi-sport adventure that BikeHike Adventures is launching for the fall of 2008. I don't have the specifics on the itinerary just yet, accept that it will be biking, rafting and trekking. Research trips are the cream of the crop in the adventure travel industry. We get to travel the world, researching, and getting paid for it. I truly love my career. :)

In India, I'll be running through our Royal Rajasthan itinerary which you can view at http://www.bikehike.com/india/india_trip01.html

I'll be back in early March with photos and details, so stay tuned and give me a call or email me with any questions.

Namaste,
Trish Sare

British Columbia, West Coast Trail Sold out for 2008

Our Backpacking the West Coast Trail Adventure has had a huge response and all 3 departures for 2008 are now sold out. The West Coast Trail has a very limited capacity with approximately 8000 trekkers allowed per year. If you are keen to hike the West Coast Trail it is necessary to reserve well in advance. We are now accepting reservations for 2009 with dates being very similar to our 2008 dates. Please call or email us for for details. info@bikehike.com

The West Coast Trail retraces an old telegraph route established in 1890 and follows a rugged shoreline where approximately 66 ships have met their demise. The trail is now referred to as the "Graveyard of the Pacific". The landscape ranges from sandy beaches to rocky headlands and wide sandstone ledges. Caves, arches, tidal pools and waterfalls add variety to the shoreline. The distance is 75 km, mostly at sea level with over 200 feet of ladders and lots of mud. It is a temperate coastal rainforest dominated by old growth spruce, hemlock and cedar. Some of the tallest and largest trees in Canada are known to be on or in the vicinity of the West Coast Trail. There are also lots of opportunities to see sea lions, whales, black bear and cougar.
